The island of Ibiza is the third largest of the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean Sea. It is 100 km (60 mi) from the eastern coast of Spain. The island is 40 km (25 mi) long, 20 km (13 mi) wide, and has an area of 570 sq km (220 sq mi).
